The small streamline design sits comfortably on your wrist and measures 48mm x 52mm in a heavy duty reinforced casing. It has a mineral glass face that is scratch resistant with large easy to read digits and a back light to help you see in low light or night diving. The four button navigation is easy to use when underwater with many features to scroll through including three different modes; air, nitrox and gauge mode. The Cressi Newton is nitrox compatible from 21% to 99%.
As a recreational diver this particular computer will do everything that you need when you hit the water, it will turn on and tell you all you need to know other than the air of course. Temperatures, depths, safety stops, nitrox mixes or even if you want to check your log book on the surface interval. The visual and audible ascent and descent rates are a popular request when looking for a wrist watch and the pre dive planning mode and decompression dive planner are great features also. It holds up to 70 hours of dives in the log book that you can go back and look through at any time and has the option to transfer your dives over to your computer if you decide to purchase the USB interface. If you choose to use it as an everyday watch when not diving it has a calendar, stopwatch, 12/24 hour clock, alarms and date which is all the functions that you would need in a watch. You can use this swimming, snorkelling or to work if you wish. It has all of the standard features of a day watch however it is reinforced with a heavier duty case than your average day watch. You can change out the battery yourself using a CR2430 battery that you can purchase from most battery shops. If you want to transfer your diving data over to your PC or Mac you will need to purchase the USB cable and download the appropriate software program to your chosen device. You will be able to transfer your data over which will allow you log all of your diving without having to write them in a log book.
